Email marketing is one of the most powerful marketing tools you can utilise. We’re sharing our best email design tips to help you get the most out of your email marketing.
- Focus on your layout
Spend some time brainstorming what content you want to include and how you’d like your email to look before you start building your campaign. Always remember to keep the most important information at the top of your email and try to have a singular focus. You want your readers to be able to easily skim through your email and still understand the message. - Your content matters
Ensure your campaign has a clear message. Your copy should be concise and to the point so that readers can quickly and easily understand your message. Break your content up with headings and images so that your readers aren’t met with a wall of text. - Show your identity
Use your brands’ colours, logo, imagery, and tone so that your readers are easily able to identify your emails. Don’t forget to include your company details at the bottom of the email. - Make use of images
You can use imagery to support your email and messaging but make sure that your images don’t distract from your messaging. Your email should still make complete sense without any images. Ideally, your campaigns should have an 80:20 text to image ratio. Avoid all image email campaigns, there are a number of reasons why these don’t work so rather avoid them. - Fonts
When it comes to fonts, it is better to keep it simple. Use up to two different fonts in your campaigns that complement the design of your email. You can always experiment with different fonts to see which entice a better reaction from your subscribers. - Use calls to action
The best way to get your subscribers to take action is by directing them. Make use of buttons so that your readers know what they are supposed to do with your email. Make sure your buttons stand out and don’t be shy to play around with different colours, layouts and wording for your calls to action. - Give your content breathing room
Make use of white space, this is going to make your design easier on the eyes and allow your readers to easily scan through each section of your email. - Get some expert advice
